I done a painting job for an old gent in his late 70's around Xmas time last year.
He'd just had a new bathroom radiator fitted a foot to the left of the existing one.In short he needed 3 0r 4 tiles fitted which i did to save him getting a tiler in.
The local B+Q made him buy a full box of...
It does sound really easy....yes.
Why not do it yourself then Norris??.Genuine question.
At least do the stripping yourself as its the hardest thing to estimate......even for pros.
Who knows how easily the paper will come off and what potentially time consuming things a P+D will find...
If youve got any alkyd/oil paint in the garage or shed paint over the marks with this ( gloss will do but white undercoat is better)and leave overnight....then gently rub over it with sandpaper next day to give it a key and emulsion to your taste
Good move going with Dulux trade emulsion.
Worth the extra pennies and its easier to work with too.Its a matter of personal preference but i usually advise customers to go for a soft sheen or mid sheen finish as vinyl silk emulsion is too shiny and matt emulsion is too easily scratched or...
At least 2 coats....If youve went to the time/expense of lining a room dont skimp by cutting corners with the emulsioning
The first coat will disapear as the lining paper is very porous/absorbant.
Dont overload your roller trying to get the emulsion to cover...you're always better with 3...
Not every1s cup o tea but as kevin says hes never put any w/paper up so good luck to him.Its still an easy way for someone with limited decorating experience to add a bit of colour/character to a room quickly.
Should be simple to put up anyways.I wouldnt spend too much time getting it matching...

I havent been to see it yet but when i got the phone call my heart sank i must admit.
Dunno how confident Id be wiping white spirit onto a car tho.Its a year old Beemer too.
Wonder if anyone has experienced this.
I got a phone call from a customer who says he has paint on his car after i finished an exterior job.says he didnt notice till he went to wash his black car and theres some fine white paint spots
I made sure he parked his car maybe 20 yards away both days...
I aint arguing with you David.
In fact Im backing you up as you seem to have made your mind up that your gonna stick with him.If you'd really wanted to replace him you would have done it by now.
As I said.Chalk this one up to experience and lose his phone number at the end of this job.
Lets get this straight here....
A plastrerer does a superb job..doesnt ask you for a penny and you still aint happy. Think i might have done a few decorating jobs for you David.
Cmon mate....you know the guy is gonna finish the job as he aint asked for any money.
Obviously he aint that...
Dont use a rough sandpaper. You dont wanna scratch any of the existing gloss off.You just wanna lightly abrade it to take any nibs off and give your surface a key for your next coat........which really should be a undercoat.
Make sure your emulsion isn't too heavy as you want your brush to glide along the wall leaving a nice sharp edge around the things you cut round. So if your cutting in emulsion is dragging too much thin it up 10%.You can always go over it again.
Do one wall at a time m8 Starting with your...
Cmon Softy.
All he did was poke fun at British people of all colors/creeds etc
You hear worse down the pub most Fri nights. But you wouldnt dare make a joke about children in my local if you wanted to keep your nuts intact
I dont see the harm of a bit of gentle **** taking of various races...
