    LED aluminium defusers

You need to use tape with closely spaced LEDs (120 or even more per metre), and a suitably deep extrusion with a good quality diffuser.

    Aluminium Windows at non-insane prices

Duration Windows were great - thanks. They replied within hours of my request and the price was much more in line with what I was expecting.

    Aluminium Windows at non-insane prices

Hi I'm looking for a 'box window' in aluminium or ali-clad wood. It's not particularly big (1800mm w x 1500mm h x 600mm d). No openings. I've had three quotes all for around the £2.5K mark. Can anyone recommend somewhere that won't charge the earth for this? Cheers, Steve

Best consumer units at the moment?

I've already written off aesthetics if I'm going for Hager ;) In terms of it just being a box, I accept that, and could probably have phrased the question better. What I actually was referring to was the best 'solution' in terms of the CU and it's accessories.

Best consumer units at the moment?

Thanks everyone. Rather than quoting each person individually, I'll address the common points. 1) I feel the love for Hager - noted. 2) No I'm not planning on installing it myself although I intend on influencing the specification - hence the question. 3) 'Whatever your electrician...

Best consumer units at the moment?

Hi folks, I know these come in and out of preference as times change, but what is generally considered to be the best consumer unit / RCBO combination at the moment. Will be needing 14 ways in total. Cheers!

    Which heat-only boiler?

Thanks everyone. I knew I'd get as many different answers as there were people replying :) The Potterton SL Heat is an interesting and unusual design. Looks very simple and robust. Future maintenance looks easy. Intergas has more tech and supports OpenTherm which is of interest to me. They all...

    Which heat-only boiler?

It's a Protherm 60-80 CI and needs a fan, ignition electrode and primary heat exchanger which makes it way beyond economical repair in my opinion.

    Which heat-only boiler?

Hi folks. Realise this may be a contentious question but which heat only boiler are the professionals recommending at the moment? It's an open vented system and we have a water softener which I believe rules out anything with an aluminium heat exchanger.

    Non-LED Dimmers

Check out the Philips DimTone lamps. They have a very warm white central LED surrounded by four normal LEDs. In normal use, the outer four LEDs are illuminated but as you dim it down, the centre one comes on, and finally the outer ones go off completely. They are very nice - faithfully...

It's for double insulation reasons, right?

Are you sure your holes are 50mm - that's pretty small.

    RGBW LED strips

Hi I can recommend this company:- https://www.hiline-lighting.co.uk/gb/ They know what they're talking about and don't sell any tat. The vast majority of the stuff on eBay is rubbish. Strongly suggest you mount it on aluminium strip to ensure longevity of the LEDs. If you stick LED strips to...
