Thank you for your advice. I know I keep fiddling, I really do want to not have to! I've changed the night temp back up to 16 as that's the default. We had all new radiators fitted too, they were all measured for room size and output.

We are just normal people, not experts in central heating, boilers, vsmart, etc. and there's no info available. Our plumber fitted the boiler etc. But he doesn't know how the vsmart technology works. Other plumbers have said they don't like installing vsmart as they've not had sifficient...

I get what you're saying but when you're asleep in bed and the heating comes on at 4am and the house is boiling an hour before you want it to be and everyone is asleep or been woken up sweating....what do you do then??? That can't be right surely?

I've not seen anything that mentions a maximum preheat time. Sounds like it would be a good feature though! There is so little guidance.
