the rule of thumb is that a flat tile,ie slates,MUST have a soaker system and a seperate cover flashing to deliver water effectively, whilst tiles with a creol can be effectively flashed with a single piece of lead on the tiles and dressed up the wall. lead soakers are still widely used. try web...
