Thanks for the suggestion. Will try the 'tapping for hollowness' when this rain stops!
The sunken side has dropped by approx 3 inches. Will attach photos - again, when the rain stops!
We have a concrete path which runs around 3 sides of our house. The side that is causing a problem has a retaining wall on one side, which is the boundary line between us and our neighbour, and the exterior wall of our house on the other side of it. Over the boundary wall is a drop of approx 3...
We are having water Ingress coming through the top of the windows on the ground floor of our house i.e. where the window meets the plastered wall inside. The windows immediately above on first floor have all been resealed as have the ones on the ground floor that are leaking. Any...
:D Phoned the company responsible for certifying the electrics. Their engineer phoned and told us he'd charge £150 to look at it! Told him we're assuming it's a faulty RCD. He was adamant about the charge so we agreed if it wasn't a faulty RCD we would pay - if it was then we wouldn't pay...
We have taken away the only timer being used. It's no longer plugged in anywhere in the house. We use our mobile phones as alarms so they aren't plugged in. Our neighbour is home before us.
The street lights have been coming on at varying times since the problem started, especially now...
No, our neighbours aren't having the same problem and their house is basically exactly the same as ours (built a couple of months before ours). Our electricity tariff has no change at 7pm but I'll check the rating of the rcd - what is the norm?
We have contacted the local Power Distributor (not the electricity supplier) who have since visited our house and fitted a plug in meter (free of charge) to monitor for surges. It's still plugged in until they call back for it.
We don't have a pond but we do have 2 outdoor lights with sensors. They can be switched off separately from switches inside the house. We have done this but again the problem still occurs.
We can't as such until the builder agrees to fix it. Because the house is so new, whatever we do to it will affect the warranty supplied with the windows & Doors. We have been in touch with the builder but he's ignoring it as well as requests to sort other things. We've had to get in touch...
HELP! We are in a 10 month old house & the electrics keep tripping the same time every night - 7.10pm. We have written down all the things that are switched on when it happens and have switched off as many as possible before it's due to go off. The only things left on are the boiler and...
The door was so bad that we couldn't actually get anything under it, not even a piece of paper let alone anything else. Surely any builder would have the common sense to realise that a floor covering of any sort would have to go under the door! :?
i thought this topic had been posted by my husband cos we're having exactly the same problem with our uPVC front and back doors. The builder is denying there is a problem even though the house is only 8 weeks old.
There isn't enough room for lino because the doors are so low to the floor...
