    New Central Heating Boiler

Numerous people on this forum have stated that condensing boilers do not last anywhere near 25 years, even the best ! There are a multitude of things that can go wrong with them, and when they get to a certain age, it is not cost-effective to have them repaired. Question answered ...

    New Central Heating Boiler

Can anyone answer my question ? Can I prolong the life of a condensing boiler by only switching it on in the winter months ?

    New Central Heating Boiler

At the moment I have an old central heating boiler (that needs replacing) and a water heater that supplies hot water. I am going to buy a new condensing boiler (possibly a Vaillant), but I am not sure whether to replace both with a combi boiler, or to keep my water heater, and buy a regular...

    Franke Tap Splashing

Yes, I have the black anti-splash. When the water hits the bottom of the sink, it splashes out everywhere. Rather than a spray, I would rather the water be directed straight downwards (like a hose-pipe :D ). I was wondering if you could get another nozzle to solve this problem.

    Franke Tap Splashing

I just fitted a new sink and tap (Danube), both made by Franke. The only problem is that the tap seems to produce alot of splashing. I have a multi-point that supplies the hot water, so the pressure has to be a certain level. Is there any way around this and is there a special attachment that...

    Front Door Adjustment

I have tried adjusting the allen keys. They seem to do nothing at all (some were loose). Tightening doesn't seem to do anything. Whay I have noticed is, that there seems to be quite a bit of wear in the hinges, which have allowed the door to drop, and also there is movement cross-ways on the...

    Fitting A New Fence Post

Thanks for all your advice. It's impossible for me to 'lever-out, the post, as it is pretty well rotten at the bottom. I decided (on ytour advice) to stick with the same hole, and managed to borrow a pickaxe, which seems like it will do the job. Now, just one more question..... My new post...

    Fitting A New Fence Post

I need to replace a fence post that has been concreted-in. I'm hoping that I can remove it, by digging around the concrete. Assuming that I am able to do that, I'm wondering what would be the best way to fit a new one. Is it best to concrete-in directly, or to use one of those metal inserts ...

    Front Door Adjustment

To clarify things, when looking face-on to the front of the house, the door has shifted anti-clockwise, by about 2-3 mm. (1.e. dropped on the lock-side). Doesn't seem alot, but it means that I have difficulty in closing the door. By the way, the door is not plastic, but metal. I will follow...

    Front Door Adjustment

All hinges are tight. I think there is slight wear on the hinges. I was wondering what the Allen keys were for on the door-side of the hinges.

    Front Door Adjustment

My front door on my porch seems to have moved slightly, and is no longer sitting 'squarely' on it's frame. Consequently, the door is not shutting propertly and intereferes with the frame when I shut the door. The bottom-right of the door is sitting tight on the frame and the top-right has a...
