Hey all, any idea what this white box (with a "lightning" logo on it) could be? It's fitted to the cold intake for a dishwasher, and doesn't appear to be powered/electrically connected.

By all accounts it looks like a traditional fitting, and this is confirmed by other similar Ideal Standard technical docs I've seen. But no idea how to get a tool past that thing in my first picture! Maybe the white plastic wings do something?
I've got a mixer tap in a basin that's super loose and I'm trying to work out how to tighten it. But this is all I can see underneath, any ideas what this thing is and why it's (presumably) blocking access to a nut concealed in the cavity above that I need to tighten?

Replacing entirely with a wet system. Existing air system is beyond repair and so taking opportunity to modernise.
Replacing the air heating system in my 70's property and found this foamy, fibrous material wrapped around the ducting, with a "fashionable" woodgrain veneer. Anyone know what it might be, best way to remove it and if it's worth holding on to?
