What is this box on cold water intake?

We were able to determine that it's a Miele aquastop hose which indeed is wired through the hose itself. Thanks for your help!

What is this box on cold water intake?

Ah that sounds right. I guess unused since it's not wired in.

What is this box on cold water intake?

Hey all, any idea what this white box (with a "lightning" logo on it) could be? It's fitted to the cold intake for a dishwasher, and doesn't appear to be powered/electrically connected.

    Tightening mixer tap

Thanks both - this was it! Removed rod, inserted 5mm hex, tightened up like a dream.

    Tightening mixer tap

Nope, nothing at all! By all accounts it looks like a traditional fitting, and this is confirmed by other similar Ideal Standard technical docs I've seen. But no idea how to get a tool past that thing in my first picture! Maybe the white plastic wings do something?

    Tightening mixer tap

Sure, here it is from above. Looks like a regular mixer tap to me.

    Tightening mixer tap

I've got a mixer tap in a basin that's super loose and I'm trying to work out how to tighten it. But this is all I can see underneath, any ideas what this thing is and why it's (presumably) blocking access to a nut concealed in the cavity above that I need to tighten? ...or is it sledgehammer...

    Duct insulation material

Considered it (this was my preferred choice) but ultimately because the property is quite small, there was no room to site both units sensibly.

    Duct insulation material

Tempted to get it tested for asbestos, simply because it was built in that period of 70's England before it was banned. A straight replacement was my initial plan, but ultimately going with wet after weighing up all the pros and cons of each and their impact on the property itself. (Losing the...

    Duct insulation material

Cheers, it certainly looks like fibre glass to me but thought property predated it. Replacing entirely with a wet system. Existing air system is beyond repair and so taking opportunity to modernise.

    Duct insulation material

Replacing the air heating system in my 70's property and found this foamy, fibrous material wrapped around the ducting, with a "fashionable" woodgrain veneer. Anyone know what it might be, best way to remove it and if it's worth holding on to? More pics: https://imgur.com/a/3VQbN
