    Bosch Work Bench PWB 600

Agreed, there does not seen to be anything special about the PWB 600. I replaced one of the top pieces on my 'workmate' with a pieces of plywood cut to size. I drilled holes to match those in the previous one and then varnished the new piece.

    Fixing wooden board to tiles

I do as I looked up what a munsen ring is. As I said a support of this sort would have cost more, not matched the pipe of or the existing bracket, and probably not have worked unless it matched the pipe diameter by chance. So a white spacer matching the white walls is good but a white board...

    Fixing wooden board to tiles

One of the more ridiculous suggestions I have seen. The brackets came with the water pipe and match it. Why on earth would I, or anyone, want to throw away a functional matching fitting, then buy and fit a non-matching one that (most likely) will not work. At last you have explained what you...

    Fixing wooden board to tiles

I have no idea what you mean, because you have not made any attempt to explain it in your multiple posts. Spacers behind just the screw holes in the bracket would enable long screws to reach the wall and be hidden. Thus the pipe could not move forward but it could move backwards. A spacer...

    Fixing wooden board to tiles

@foxhole, did you read what I wrote? The bracket is not attached to the pipe, so spacers would obviously be useless. The bracket stops the pipe from moving forwards and the block of plastic (pressing against the wall) stops the pipe from moving backwards. Spacers would hold the bracket in...

    Fixing wooden board to tiles

Thanks. I did that and it was a very useful first step. The tiles on the wall are 1930s originals and I suspect that they were fired a lot more. On the modern ones, once I had got through the glaze the rest was very easy to drill, whereas the originals were as tough as modern glaze all the way...

Decanting from 20 litre creocote container

If you get a tap make sure that it two parts to the outlet, one for the liquid to get out and one to let air in. I think that the one linked https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01FDXINDY is like that. When decanting from a 20 litre creocote container I have used one (that I happened to have around)...

Water until established, how does one know it is established?

What we have done with some plants is to bury a plant pot close to it. Filling that with water means that the enters the soil some inches down (depending on the shape & size of the pot) and the relatively narrow hole in the bottom of the pot minimises evaporation.

    EPC rating

Many years ago (a decade possibly) in the Telegraph there was an environment type column and the author had a bog-standard EPC done. The 'inspector' came round, took some readings, plugged the values into a program on their laptop (said program having loads of assumptions), and it came up with...

    Silka Setting Sand

Correct. Patio Magic (Wet & Forget, etc) uses benzalkonium chloride as the active ingredient. This kills algae & moss but does not affect most plants.

Remove Algae from Shed Wall - Product Advice needed.

Wet & Forget (and other similar products such as Patio Magic) contain benzalkonium chloride (BAC). They have c. 7% BAC and you dilute it down to c. 2%. However you can buy buy BAC at 50% which is much more economical.

    Fixing wooden board to tiles

We recently had a new toilet installed and the water pipe is supposed to be held on the wall by two brackets. However the toilet had to be installed further from the wall [1] so one of the brackets will not reach the wall. Bracket screwed to wall by our plumber Where the other bracket should...
