Neighbours objection, right of light, regulations

Thanks Jeds these are the roughly the same calculations I worked out. The architect also only started talking about raising the ridge line when he told me I had to go to PP, I am definitely getting the feeling my architect is taking me for a ride. Woody you read my mind, I am going to get a new...

Neighbours objection, right of light, regulations

Don't apologise Tony1851 I think you all may be right, I am trying to do the maths using formulas found on the net & it is quite a possibility to be under 50m cubed. My architect has never given me any dimensions or formula's, I just took his word that It was over the 50m cubed. My dormer will...

Neighbours objection, right of light, regulations

Jeds As my house is a detached pyramid shape I am guessing I will need 2 x hip to gables calculations of @ 17 cubic metres, is that correct ? Thanks Steve

Also another point you may be able to help with is. If ( as I have been led to believe) my neighbours loft conversion has not been signed off by the council as completed, do you think the 4 year rule should still apply

Neighbours objection, right of light, regulations

Thanks everyone for your input all very useful, I am getting the feeling I may well be on a losing battle here but will continue with the argument along the lines that Doggit has mentioned in that the dormer isn't valid & the council are wrong to enforce the rule. Also thanks GeoffJ I am going...

Neighbours objection, right of light, regulations

I have applied for planning permission for the loft conversion and my architect told me as the conversion was over 50 squared metres I would need planning. My neighbour has a dormer window in his loft area adjacent to my house and my plans change the side profile of my house to a full gable end...

Neighbours objection, right of light, regulations

Hi Need some advice please. I am currently in battle (and losing badly) with my local council. I have applied for planning permission for a loft conversion and my neighbour has objected because my plans will cause a 'rights of light' issue due to a regulatory 25 degree line from the middle of...
