Why not go to the LA and say where's the cert... See what they say? If they say no final inspection was done... Ask them to come and do one and go from there?

Same, seems madness not to get the final inspection done. I'm very cautious of indemnity insurance as a buyer because if the house collapses it doesn't pay for it to be rebuilt it just covers the lack of building regs issue. Our house purchase was delayed 3 months waiting for copies of certs...

100% option 1, it's work for a digger to do which you have on site now. Building over drains/sewers creates it's own problem and there's no gurantee option 2 would be approved either.

As per title, I've just realised I've done something a little silly; we had a pipe leak in a wall so we cut a hole in plasterboard so a plumber could repair it/re solder it etc. I've replastered it in some layers of thistle stuff I had. Then I've just realised I didn't protect the pipe again...

I've just enjoyed spending a good bit of time reading this! Great read... I have to laugh at the trampoline though sorry; it reminds me of a trip to Vietnam where we saw the Punji Stick traps :)
