Extending ring mains, cable sizes, voltage drops etc

Just to start the ball rolling, as I'm sure the more learned will explain in greater detail. With a ring the load share between both halves of the ring. A 32a ring is can supply up to 100 sq m of floor space (OSG pg 151 (brown edition)). This is for a domestic location and takes into account...

    Cooker circuit with junction box

So long as the Jb is accessible, if required, for an inspectio & test and is rated to carry the current then no reason not to use one.

    kitchen wiring

I'd assumed that already from your earlier posting. Just so you understand. I misread 6.6Kw and typed 3.3Kw but I had already worked out that 6600/230 is 28.69565217 amps, so I rounded it up.

wire up shower to consumer unit

Yes. Have you considered the need for suplementary bonding. Is it fitted? If so is it correct and what else do you need to do.

    cooker control unit

Is there a reason you're asking this again? What happens if the answer you get in this thread is different from the answer in the other? Which are you going to believe? And having fitted this cooker circuit are you going to test it?

    Help identifying MCB (*Pics Added*)

Sounds like a BS3871 MCB, the M6 indicating that it rated to 6000A short circuit current (this is not the overload current). These have been superceeded by the BS60898 (Type B, C & D). Without knowing its rating and the size/length of cable you are using/ plan to use for your shower and the...

    kitchen wiring

How long is the 10mm cable and how is it run? Under floorboards, through insulation? Before being able to say what a cable can carry we need to know its installation details. So the new hob is 3.3Kw (29Amps) and you want to use a 13Amp fused switch, how long do you think the 13amp fuse will...

    spur query

So from this I take it that it is impossible to plug two 13 amp plugs into a twin socket. And if each 13 amp plug had a 3 Kw radiant heater on the end it still only comes to 13 amps :?: Triple sockets are always fused? MK are but I don't believe to 2 to 3 gang conversion is.

    spur query

HOWEVER OSG states that an unfused spare may supply one single or one twin or one multiple socket outlet. So a triple takes us up to 39 Amps again.
