Im no nearer,
all the google pages are the newer style 'redfyre' solid fuel back boilers from a modern company 'trianco redfyre'
The thing in my wall seems older and un known.
I've had the old nasty gas fire take out my living room, it has exposed a cast iron think that says 'redfyre' on the front of it.
My house is an ex-local authority 60's semi. The chiminey seems to be in good serviceable condition but im going to have this checked properly.
Is the cast...
Well i dont knw anything about your particular boiler or which vessel you should use Im afraid but ...........
If you expansion vessel has filled with water its no good, they should be half water and half air seperated by a diaphragm. Water filled means knackered diaphragm.
As i understand...
there is no ;eaks inside the boiler casing, have checked it all out, filling loop disconnected (shut and pipe removed) and its still looses pressure. Im bemused its acting just like expansion vessel. Even goes a bit too high when its refilled like it would but thats not got water at valve and...
can find no signs of leakage, i thought probably expansion vessel at first but that had plenty of charge and no water was released at the valve so diaphragm ok, pumped back up to recommended pressure.
Not come accross the heat exhanger problem before, any sure fire ways to identify that as...
Hi Folks,
Im sure this is a really obvious solution but My expertise is electronics not central heating.............
My boiler works fine but whilst not actually lit is loosing pressure, if left overnight it looses enough to lockout and flash the low pressure code at me, it can be made to...
Hi Slugbabydotcom
I dont have the MI, would appreciate if you could send, my email addy is in profile but just in case it
set out like that to hopefully lessen spam, you know what it means im sure.
thanks mate,
Changed over the wiring as suggested, really quite an easy job :-)
Yes code changed to 07 (CH thermistor Open)
So will order a new one tomorrow :-)
Will let you know how it goes :-)
Right found out whats what with the Vokera fault code.
Apparantly 06 means DHW (direct hot water?) thermistor is open circuit.
As im a trained electronics engineer is this the sort of thing i can replace myself?
Hi PTH,
Not to do with Stinkwheels MCC but indeed a motorcycle phrase and intended to bring thoughts of two stroke bikes. Yamaha LC Club memeber myself.
Further to above, tried it again today (just been ignoring it so far)
It switched on with green light for few seconds then it made what i would call a relay/solenoid related clicky on off few times and reverted to redcode 06.
Any help or anyone able to tell me what the code means much...
