I dunno whats wrong with it and the only way to find out is to get the fault codes read, but I would take it back. Did you buy it private or from a garage/dealer?

A similar thing happened to a mate of mine a few years ago, he got a parking ticket issued for parking an untaxed car on a public car park. He contacted the council and told them where they could stick it and they backed down.

Do you have a petrol lawn mower? I'd try using it in that rather than risking putting it in the car.

Yes that sounds like what it does No I had to bleed one a while back but I couldn't tell you the colour of the water I'm affraid and they don't have to be done regularly.
