need to repreesurize glow warm combi boiler! flashing red light and displaying 0.5 bar, been told it needs more water in system but cannot find wot looks like a valve , any help please?

had problem with pilot light not staying on, so after reading this forum changed t/c that problem seems ok know. since changing the tank in loft is making strange noises the hot water seems too hot and is brown in colour, has anybody got any ideas.
