I've read on here that 2 ports are supposed to last longer, we only have about two 3 ports in our housing stock as vast majority are combi's, some with zonal heating.
Getting a combi would have some benefits, but not many and it would require a conversion (changed from conventional system to combi) a lot more than your quote. I would get it changed to an S plan (X2 motorised valves) system rather than keep the 3 port valve.
Yet have tried to cut corners and left it unfinished without talking to you about it.
Also, if you have the manual and it's the same as I've just looked at, look at Q of the flue termination section and using a neutraliser for the condense (section 7).
Because some people aren't arsed or not interested. I have explained this many a time to our customers (social housing) and unfortunately they don't seem to want to know. Perhaps they don't like or are afraid of change?
