    Help with Lan Card

Bang on, usually slot three (from left with connectors at the top) on most motherboards doesn't share any IRQ with anything else, and NIC's sometimes dont like sharing. Move your NIC into slot 3 and see how things go. There's an excellent article on from AMD explaining IRQ assignments and some...

    making my computer last longer

Thats a lot of dust. Or a crap/old PSU. Or perhaps a combination of all three. Compressed air is a standard tool for pc maintenance, been using it for a long time and never yet damaged any hardware. Keep your pc's innards clean and the chances of hardware failure are drastically reduced.

    making my computer last longer

Eeek! Get some nice clean compressed air, should only cost a fiver from any decent pc hardware store. It'll do a much better job and you wont knock all your lovely hardware about with it. If you turn the can upside down and spray you also get a great little freeze gun to taunt the cat with...

Shed Base - what to do?

Thanks for all the suggestions. We've settled on a brick surround, filling that with a mix of sharp sand and cement to create a raised floor of tapped in paving slabs. that will serve as the inside floor. The shed will sit over the paving slabs, but on the brick, we should then easily be...

    bridge cable

We have a few of these devices at work, they are simple to install and use and for the purpose of minimal fuss networking as and when you need it they are great. Get yourself a crossover cat5 or above network cable (if you are just hooking up two machines point to point) and you are away.

    erratic pc start up.

Back to basics. Can you post the OS you are running and any details about the spec of the hardware its sitting on. Also, exactly when does it "freeze"? Is it before the windows start up splash page, during, or once you're in windows - or is it a bit of all three? Does it start playing up from...

Shed Base - what to do?

OK... These battens, do they sit inside the bottom lip of the shed, within the interior providing a floor or are they used as a slightly larger base, that the shed sits on top of? I have access to a load of wooden palettes. I could fix these together and cover them over with some astroturf...

Lavasoft http://www.lavasoftusa.com do quite a good one too. Some are more effective than others, best bet is to use a couple to make sure you catch 'em all.

Shed Base - what to do?

Hello! I've got an area of even concrete at the back of my garden and I'd like to put a shed on it. Any suggestions/advice as to how I can stop the water seeping in underneath? I suppose I'm asking, I've got my foundations, what do I use as a base?? Cheers Dan
