Thanks MJJUK, for the info, I managed to take the board out, could not see any dry joints used a small scewdriver to see if any movement they all seemed sound, but there seems to be a crack on the surface of the board, do you think this could be the problem and can it be repaired? is it possible...

you can see the crack, the black line from the tranny to the ressisor, but it hasn't gone right through the board can this be repaired??? thanks for pointing me in the right direction, do you think this is the problem??

washing machine stopped working, checked carbon brushes and they were worn nearly to the limit, pushed them in and out several times put them back in two weeks later machine stopped working eg washing and spinning, replaced carbon brushes and machine started to wash a little,eg start at 56 mins...
