I went to a local carpet shop and the fitter must be sub contracted too them. It’s one where you have to pay the shop for the carpet then the fitter after fitting.. I have not paid them as of yet

Unfortunately the fitter and the carpet shop owner were trying to put the responsibility onto me. I am not that stupid to believe an actual carpet could cause that amount of damage. They were very quick to say it wasn’t a Stanley knife. The fire is brand new so I have asked them to replace it...
