Hi, Have a double light socket in my downstairs hallway that controls my hallway lighting, and the lights in the landing on the 1st floor. These are working fine (recently re-hooked up by an electrician after the boxes were changed for new ones) The problem is, I can only get the landing...

**Update** So, took an entire weekend but removed the shower door, all the mastic tape and did the following: 1 - re-grouted the entire shower (looked fine anyway, but to be 100%) 2 - freshly siliconed the tray-wall and vertical joins with Mapesi sealant 3 - scraped off all old...

Any thoughts on the above guys and girls? Sorry to bump, but going to make a start on it this evening. Thabks

1) one common problem is not sealing the wall to tray joint before the door is fitted So basically I need to remove the shower door to do this, is it just the join where tray and tile meets (behind the door-support on either wall) or do I literally bed the door-support into a bed of silicone...

*** Update *** So its clear that the stupid 'mastic strips' the "professional" used are useless, after I peeled away could see the grout behind it (although neatly done) showed signs that water had been absorbed. Got everything I need to properly seal, just a final few questions..... 1...

haha, will do. Just took the 'mastic tape'off and given everything a good clean and drydown, will leave it 48hrs before doing anything to give things a chance to dry. Disappointingly, just grout (albeit neatly done) under the tape.....no sealant whatsoever. Even I know grout is not good...

thanks mate, think I'll err on the side of caution and just grab some black Mapei Mapesil - a tiler friend tells me its good stuff.

Thanks for all your help (and the other replies) think that's a sensible first step. Out of interest - after I've re-sealed assume no issue (after leaving 48hrs to cure) with buying some more mastic tape (noticed the quotes - is it not called that?) and putting it over the sealant afterwards?

Was hoping you wouldn't suggest that :) Its mastic tape round the top of the tray - again I don't know if the installer used sealant to join the tiles to the tray before putting the mastic over the top.... I guess if I just do one of the 3 walls at a time, should be relatively easy to spot...

Done - dry as a bone - pointed directly at centre of door on full power.

**Update** Not sure if this is good or bad news, but moved the wires out of the way and binded with electrical tape, then gave it a good 5min on its highest setting (cold water) directly down the plughole and not a single drop from the ceiling.....every time it has leaked its been noticeable...
