Thanks for the reply vinn. I don;t think it's the flashing personally, because the water is dirty and sooty so it must have come down the chimney rather than through a gap. Would damaged pointing allow water to flow inside the chimney? It's hard to tell what the pointing is like from ground...

DE 2431 FW had the same problem (put a wash on overnight, pump was still running in the morning and couldn't reset). Tipped machine back 45 degress.... water came out of the back, and then it worked. Cheers! :mrgreen:

Cheers - by ingos do you mean the wall inside of the kerb? I tried the fan/paper test - it doesn't exactly feel superglued on, but I can't pull the paper away directly, I have to slide it down. It's probably not the best fan ever, but seems adequate. It's one of these btw...

Hi - we have a skylight on our landing and when we moved in 2 years ago, we had the glass repaired - it was single glazed georgian wire, and was replaced with toughened laminated glass of the same thickness (two pieces of glass sandwiching a plastic barrier) - I'm not sure if the old skylight...

Cheers for the advice mate. I'm not sure how easy it will be to get double glazing in there though... the frame only really suits 6mm glass (or 8mm at a push maybe) and the glass would need to be laminated and toughened (it's dead flat so will potentially have snow sitting on it in the winter)...
