    Boiler cutting out

Hi Everyone, Just thought I'd post up my solution in case anyone else has the problem... Basically, I hired out a power flush machine and ran that across the whole system. It's totally cleared out all sludge from my system and also any air. The heating is so warm now and it wasn't that...

    Boiler airlocked

Right, that's it, I'm giving up :( Have a plumber coming round on Monday to sort it out. Will post up the results in case anyone else has the same problem...

    Boiler airlocked

Thanx for the replies Chris... We've taken the whole pump apart and checked for sludge in the fan bit. There wasn't any and it was all clean inside and nothing "looked" broken. So with your diagram... you're saying connect a bypass pipe from the mains entry to the f&e tank to the feed into...

    Boiler airlocked

Yep, pump has been bled, steady flow of water comes out. It's dripping rather than gushing but still seems to be bled. One of the suggestions I found was to run the system with one radiator on and that should push the air through to the radiator and I can bleed it out there. But that hasn't...

    Boiler airlocked

Hi everyone, I'm a bit boned at the mo so if anyone can help out I'll be forever grateful!!! Basically, I drained my system three times. Twice when refilling I did it through the F&E tank. The last time I filled it from bottom up using a hose pipe attached from a mains tap to my bottom...

    Boiler cutting out

Errr... Sorry, you've lost me. First plumbing project and all that... ;) I have a tap in the loft which is the entrance to the f&e tank so I turned that off (same effect as tiening up the ball thingy). Then started draining it from the drain cock (?) at the bottom of my stairs. I opened up...

    Boiler cutting out

Well the boiler thermostat has High, Low, or off. So it's currently set at off and it's all running through. Will give it another bash later on tonight. If it doesn't work, I'm staying at my parents!!! I consultated my g/f's dad too. He said that... Flush it all out again. But when refilling...

    Boiler cutting out

Doesn't seem to be working I'm afraid :( As soon as the boiler kicks in it starts making funny noise and shuts down. And that's with one radiator on - Have tried different radiators aswell and same thing. I have the pump screw open in case any air needs to come out but water simply drips from...

    Boiler cutting out

OK, well am giving it a whirl right now... When you say valves off, is that the opposite side of the radiator (get a spanner out) or a certain valve thingy in the airing cupboard (where all the pipes/boiler/pump is)...? Sorry for the stoopid questions, this is my first plumbing project... :)

    Boiler cutting out

OK, it's on the highest speed, I have the middle screw undone and there is a constant supply of water out of it... I can see two valves of importance. One, I believe is the expansion pipe. Either that or it's the feed pipe, it's the smaller of the two. And there's my bypass valve. If I open...

    Boiler cutting out

Pump is fine. I think. It was all working OK-ish before I flushed the system. The reason I flushed it coz I think there's sludge in my system and the water isn't getting through the radiators. Long story. But the pump was working then, it's just since I did the flush that I got this problem.

    Boiler cutting out

Hi everyone, Yesterday I flushed my whole system out, Which worked. :) I then cleaned out my F&E tank & put some Central Heating Cleanser in it. Then let the tank fill back up, bleed all the radiators and switch the system back on again. My problem is that the boiler will now not stay...

    Central Heating

OK... All done, water came out straight away. No air in the system. Err... bypass? Which one will that be? There is one on the 15mm pipe you mentioned which is currently open. The one going up to the loft. Would that be the one??? Water is clean but there is dirt at the bottom...
