Repointing a chimey - builder or roofer?

Yep, just a normal chimney stack. I'll try a few local companies. Cheers all.

Repointing a chimey - builder or roofer?

As per the title, if my chimney needs repointing would I use a builder to do the work or a roofer? I'm guessing a builder, but I might be wrong!

Swap programmer for timeswitch / wireless prog. thermostat

Just finished wiring the new thermostat in, and it all works fine. Took about 40 minutes in all. Reused the redundant heating wire in the programmer to replace the earth-wired HW/off, so that one is at least wired correctly now. Thanks again.

I've ordered the Honeywell Wireless Stat now, so I just have to wait for it to arrive. I'll probably start off using the existing LP241 for the hot water timings, and maybe upgrade if I find I want different timings on different days (the wife's often complaining we run out of water on the...

That honeywell pdf is very useful, if only they did one for drayton wiring centres! Just to try and prove my understanding, if I read the ST6100 manual correctly, that would mean a missing wire between connection 2 on the ST6100 (timer off) to connector 7 on the wiring centre connector block...

Swap programmer for timeswitch / wireless prog. thermostat

Yes, a three-port mid position valve. I think I've been confused myself by the options in the honeywell manual, choosing the one that mentioned a valve, rather than the others (two of which ~ combi / cooling ~ I certainly don't have). Am I to assume that the wiring schematic I'm looking at...

Sorry, they're the naming conventions on the honeywell 'zone valve' diagram, BR I assume being the convential white cable on a mid-valve.

Swap programmer for timeswitch / wireless prog. thermostat

Given the wiring layout for the digistat as an example then : What wires go where? I'm assuming that the Neutral comes from the 240v mains (from the vertical connector), and the the new connection on 5 is a permanent Live. That leaves me with the wire from pin 2 which I assume is...

Swap programmer for timeswitch / wireless prog. thermostat

Rather confusingly I found a second set of instructions of the T4360 here, which seems to suggest that the Neutral connection is required??? Additonally, the boiler is in an unheated utility room, so the frost stat would still need to be seperate. Thanks for you efforts with the picture by...

Okay, more information on the frost stat wiring. This is the frost stat from the front. and from the rear. It's clear that the blue(N) and brown(L) and y/g(E) wires from the wiring centre cable go straight to a connector block, which in turn go straight to the boiler. A linked...

No, there is a seperate frost stat above the boiler (an Ideal Classic), but I'm not sure how/whether it attaches to the wiring box.

Okay here we go. Some of the pictures are available in larger size if you click them. The thermostat (an ETS1) inside : The flex carries 5 wires : one brown, two black, one yellow / green, one blue. The key from the inside of the cover : So the wiring is : brown - live...

Yep, there is a fused connection unit next to the wiring box supplying the necessary 240v. The valve has a whote Drayton MA1 Mid Position Actuator on top.

It's a mid position valve. I was planning to use a LP722, but from reading here was led to think that with a programmable thermostat I'd have to leave the heating on constant anyway, making the heating side of the LP722 redundant. I guess from an "ease of swap" point of view I can see the...

Swap programmer for timeswitch / wireless prog. thermostat

It's not yellow, but does have a 16 way terminal strip (horizontal) with red links, plus a 7 way vertical terminal strip (for power connections). It's in this pdf.
