I had the same thoughts about the the fact he was there to perform a service and not on a fault finding exercise. I didn't expect him to fix the problem though, just to keep an eye out for anything that might be causing the lockups and then I could have booked him again to fix that...

My Ravenheat Combi works fine most of the time but occasionally it locks out with the yellow flame faliure light coming on. It hasn't been so bad over the summer with just the hot water needed. I saw the problem maybe 4 times in as many months. Now I am starting to use the central heating aswell...

Just to give and update and resolution to the problem. It turned out my timer was faulty. Plumber swapped it for a new non ravenheat one (Potterton - cheaper) and now all is well again. Cheers, Andrew.
