Thank you. I hadn't thought of an extractor fan but that would help! I don't often get flooded - and the sandbags work well - but I do really want to be able to use that room.

Thanks so much for your insight! The building is in a bit of a "dip" if that makes any sense (will take a photo) so I am not sure how to divert water away as it gathers in a little channel at the base of the building. I didn't know you could get mould-resistant paint but I will be investing...

I would be grateful for any advice on how to handle this. It's an unventilated little cubby hole under stairs and the damp gets bad as you can see from the black mould which I cleaned off a couple of months back. It gets flooded when the rain is really bad, but I've put sandbags up which helps...

So the rat turned up in my neighbour's house. In the loo, to be precise. While he was sitting on it. He put some traps out and of course one caught the rat while he was away so I had to deal with it. I hadn't thought about just getting doors. In an ideal world I'd replace the whole lot but I don't have a job and need to eat first and foremost! These photos show the damage. If I can glue it, that'll be easier but I did like the idea of at least changing the colour.
