Hum, the only reason we've had to have the ladder is because stairs would be far too difficult to get into the area, as its pretty small. But thanks for the input.

Is there any type of ladder (barring electric ladders) that you can close with relative ease from the top? This is for a loft thats being converted into a bedroom, but leaving the ladder down seems impractical since you can't close the hatch while it's in this state. Can anyone help? My...
