Replacing 9kw shower with another 9kw shower!

Hmm, well I can see the 6mm cable leaving the bottom of the CU to presumably go upstairs within the plasterboard wall cavity. I can see 6mm emerge in the loft and go down to the Isolator switch and 6mm return from the Isolator switch back into the loft to then go to the shower. I just...

Replacing 9kw shower with another 9kw shower!

Oh well, it's 6mm cable as predicted. So, I suppose the obvious questions are these: * is it possible to upgrade ONLY the 6mm cable to the shower or will it have to be the entire house? * how expensive can I expect this to be? Cheers!

Replacing 9kw shower with another 9kw shower!

Many thanks for the quick replies. I take it that the best place to look for cable size would be where it connects to the isolation switch? Cheers.

Replacing 9kw shower with another 9kw shower!

Hi all, With my Mira Supreme 9kw shower finally giving up on me I reluctantly forked out for a Mira Advance ATL 9kw shower as it was supposedly the best 'fit' in terms of pipework. Anyway, I had a plumber visit today and aside from the pipework not being as easy as first thought he also...

    New Bathroom Fan Heater Help!

Sorry, I did actually mean a switched FCU with flex outlet, but wrote DP switch :? Not used to tossing these terms around! So you reckon that with the given parameters I'm okay with a switch in the bathroom?

    New Bathroom Fan Heater Help!

Well with that in mind, I need to clear up one other thing. Can I just replace the current fused spur for a DP switch given that the heater is 1.3m from the bath & 0.9m from the sink? In other words, I think the heater is in Zone 3 - so does this allow the use of a DP switch? Thanks in...

    New Bathroom Fan Heater Help!

Thanks for all that - sorry if I sounded like I wanted to ride roughshod all over the compliances, I just wanted to understand the need for a switch. It's clear I need a switch so I'll deal with that over the weekend. In the meantime, can I be safe in the knowledge that with the current...

    New Bathroom Fan Heater Help!

Nope! I'd already thought of that but can't see anything. It wouldn't be in the loft would it? Also, could someone answer the question as to whether this setup is dangerous in itself? Assuming no risk of contact with water is the DP switch 100% necessary? Thanks for the replies.

    New Bathroom Fan Heater Help!

Okay, that is exactly the situation, the heater has a permanent feed even when switched off. Now, is that *in itself* a dangerous thing? Could that cause an electrical fire by itself? The heater fulfills all the installation instructions as regards height from floor, shower, door etc and...

    New Bathroom Fan Heater Help!

Hi all, hope someone can help with this particular question. Here's the situation - my 2kw bathroom fan heater recently stopped working so I purchased a new 2kw fan heater and installed it no problem. The thing is after installation I noticed that the instructions (in very small type I...
