Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

I have 5mm underlay which i thought would sort any deviations. I've just observed the machine on a wash, and the laminate plank under the front left foot is flexing a very little bit..... but not on a full spin, it only seems to go when perhaps the wash is uneven on a slow spin. There was no...

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

That was my thinking, but use 18mm osb..... but if i do that there's no going back, so would like to try other suggestions first. Like the one Mottie suggested in using L-brackets to see if i can firm up the laminate. But open to other suggestions as well.

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

The laminate is laid on a concrete floor, hence my thinking it's the laminate that's the problem.

I haven't a clue, no. I'm not convinced these anti-vibration mats work though, as thought they would cause more movement in the machine compared to being 'stuck' to the floor.... but hey i got to give it a go, thanks.

Thanks Mottie, The thing i hate most is having to get the machine out and back in again....... will def consider that idea though, maybe get a few ideas together and try them at the same time.

Well that sounds like a easy, cheap fix. And you've had no problems with essentially stopping it from becoming a floating floor? I admit i though of screwing the laminate down haha

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

Washing machine makes loud knocking noise on 1400 spins (transport bolts are out and machine is level) I have 12mm laminate on 5mm foam underlay in the kitchen to which the washing machine sits. The rear of the laminate where it reaches the back wall is somewhat 'bouncy' and i believe this is...

Wiring in 2 x switched wall lights

I saw the same thing on the Wayfair site, advertised on sale, but £20 more expensive. The reviews look good, some i've read have negative comments about installation, but none here - plus Amazon customer service is very decent, so any problems and they can be returned. When looking at...

Wiring in 2 x switched wall lights

Thank you, that is most helpful. I already have 1.5mm cable handy, but if 1.0mm would be better i can get that - which then i can get enough to run 2 cables from the landing light and be done with it that way. I only suggested the alternative as the cable i have isn't long enough to do that...

Wiring in 2 x switched wall lights

Hello, So, 2 x switched wall lights either side of the bed, nearest permanent live comes from the ceiling rose on the landing with plenty of room to connect the cable. I would like to take 1 x cable from the permanent live in the loft to above where the wall lights are to be situated and drop...

Retro Fit Insect Screen - Trickle Vents

Forgot to add we have a PIV unit, so perhaps the best solution is just to close the vents up?

Retro Fit Insect Screen - Trickle Vents

Hello, Social housing tenant here who had new windows installed over a year ago. Been getting dead bugs on the window sill and noticed there is no insect guards fitted in the trickle vents. Reply from housing is vents conform to building regs, so nothing they are prepared to do, but i can...

    New Install - Cooker Hood

That's fantastic, cheers Although that 2 core feeds the extractor fan - rather than replace, can i not just add a 3 core cable to run along side the existing cable for the cooker hood - putting 2 cables in each terminal? Got the 5A choc for the earth, I take it 3 core flex is acceptable rather...

    New Install - Cooker Hood

Just opened up the isolator switch, and it's a transformer not an isolator - it's connected to a 3A FCU switch just above the worktop. So thinking i just run 1.0mm2 cable from the N&L connectors to the new cooker hood, but what about an earth?
