    Ideas for flooding lawn...... please....

I have an update - after the social housing guy came round Monday he mentioned the storm drain cover, but never looked in it. So just taken the cover off and yes it is storm drain - but also there is a branch heading to the bottom of the lawn. The drain is 70cm deep so not too deep, but deep...

    Ideas for flooding lawn...... please....

Cheers guys, this is my problem - the only place i have to run the drains off to is at the top of the slope..... and with the fencing the way it is, i can´t increase the height of the lawn. The private property directly at the back of me has paved all his area, which probably isn´t helping my...

    Ideas for flooding lawn...... please....

Thank you for the link. Doesn´t look good - High groundwater vulnerability, and for soilscape it´s Loamy and clayey floodplain soils with naturally high groundwater. I guess this confirms there would be no budget option to improve this. The warning signs were there as there are quite a few of...

    Ideas for flooding lawn...... please....

Really stuck for a budget solution for our lawn. It´s a new build, we moved in as 2nd social housing tenants in July. Housing and developer not interested in doing anything, so we are on our own. Water pools worse bottom right - gravel board constantly black - but does pool all along the...

    Bin Store

Thanks, no i don´t - that was initial research and just wanting the cheapest option i think just some 2x2 for the frame, feather edge instead of the slats, and then paint with some cupernol or similar.

    Bin Store

Looking to build a bin store for the wheelie bins, crates, and bags. Looking at Wickes, i´m thinking pressure treated 45x70 for the frame https://www.wickes.co.uk/Wickes-Treated-Sawn-Timber---22-x-47-x-2400mm---Pack-of-10/p/261393 and 22x47 for slats for the back, sides...

    Smart options for Vaillant Boiler?

Yep, no external temp sensor - whilst the new build was wired with 2 thermostats, that was as far as they went. Beginning to look like a complete overhaul is needed to get some cost saving smart features.

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

I have 5mm underlay which i thought would sort any deviations. I've just observed the machine on a wash, and the laminate plank under the front left foot is flexing a very little bit..... but not on a full spin, it only seems to go when perhaps the wash is uneven on a slow spin. There was no...

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

That was my thinking, but use 18mm osb..... but if i do that there's no going back, so would like to try other suggestions first. Like the one Mottie suggested in using L-brackets to see if i can firm up the laminate. But open to other suggestions as well.

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

The laminate is laid on a concrete floor, hence my thinking it's the laminate that's the problem.

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

I haven't a clue, no. I'm not convinced these anti-vibration mats work though, as thought they would cause more movement in the machine compared to being 'stuck' to the floor.... but hey i got to give it a go, thanks.

Laminate under washing machine 'bouncy' causing knocking noise on spin.

Thanks Mottie, The thing i hate most is having to get the machine out and back in again....... will def consider that idea though, maybe get a few ideas together and try them at the same time.

Well that sounds like a easy, cheap fix. And you've had no problems with essentially stopping it from becoming a floating floor? I admit i though of screwing the laminate down haha
