    you should be able to extend existing lighting and power circuits, dont forget rcd ground floor circuits.

    there should be one cable incomin live and neutral, one pair to next room light fitting live and neutral, one pair to switch live and switch line {black marked red for switch line}, one pair to extra light red switch line black neutral. connect live red to red to next room and red to switch in...

    go to boiler control connection strip. leave mains connected but disconnect external controls and put loop between connectors to short out external controls, heating should now work on boiler controls only, if heating dosnt work the main pcb is blown, sorry.

    sounds like a complete mess. retest between each outlet both upstairs and down. determine which cables go where. may need to rehash.you need one ring upstairs, one ring down, one ring kitchen outlets, one ring appliances, cooker on own. beter to get it right now rather than after kitchen is in.
