    Temperature drop alert to phone

I understand lightwave are bringing out their next gen switches. Currently it is switch and hope. The next gen appears to report back condition of switch. However having experience of LW production promises I don't know if they are available yet. Mick

Smart meter... To install or not to install?

lamchamps. When you say you pay for what you actually use, is that because you don't pay by monthly direct debit. Or does your supplier change your monthly DD to reflect actual useage.

Central control of multi-zone CH with Honeywell hcc80

Try Googling Lightwaverf Heating. Not to everyones taste and it is still a work in progress. But certainly nowhere near as good as Honeywell Evohome.

    Vokera Mynute 15 VHE

Thought that may have been the case. She referred me to the gas safe website but as I said, I was surprised by her reply. I currently have a Glowworm Economy Plus EP40b fitted in the garage.

    Vokera Mynute 15 VHE

Called Vokera this morning because I was interested in replacing my 22 year old boiler with the above. Two reasons for selecting this boiler, the price and this boiler would appear to fit neatly in place of the existing boiler. When I explained to the girl who refers jobs to you guys, she told...

Help needed to design energy efficient solution

Have a look for a control system like Danfoss Link. Together with electronic trv's (Living Connect) & Hydronic controllers for wet ufh. All controlled from one small control unit. Not cheap but a very neat package and user friendly.

    TRV systems

Hi Rustyh I have the Danfoss Link control. I have an S Plan system and use the boiler relay to control heating and a simple relay to control the hot water. Looking at the Evohome they offer a separate relay for the hot water control, but using a separate BDR91 should also be possible. You will...

    TRV systems

The Evohome system can be set up so that all the TRV's act as boiler interlocks. So theoretically when the last TRV in the circuit closes, the boiler/pump will switch off, allowing you to have a full TRV system. However on my electronic TRV's I have found that as you get to that point, the noise...

Should we install TRVs? Do they save energy?

Hi Max If you look at it simply. The radiator you have with the broken TRV is on all the time your heating is on. (Do you open the window if it gets too hot in that room?) Lets say the output of that radiator is 1000W when perfectly balanced, then it is kicking out 1KW of energy every hour...

    Worth replacing TRVs?

I was going to go for Evohome but last years model didn't cover enough rooms. I have the Danfoss Link CC with Living Connect Wireless TRV's. More than happy with it, Another two weeks to go before its been in 12 months but I am looking at about 35% gas saving on last years results. Works...

    Worth replacing TRVs?

All my TRV's control my boiler. at least in the rooms I want them too. When the last TRV in the circuit is closed the boiler switches off. If one room falls below the set temperature, that TRV opens and starts the boiler. As soon as it is up to temp it closes and the boiler stops again! The...

    CH Upgrade with Digital TRV's

I bit the bullet last Xmas and treated myself to the Link CC together with the living connect rad valves & Boiler relay. I also fitted an in-line relay to my hot water controls. All in all I am well impressed with the system. All the rooms have different set back times, controlled locally or...
