That's correct, it's been temporarily propped, after which the piers (with padstones) will be built up to support it permanently. This avoids the need to take out the end wall of the kitchen until the last minute............allegedly !

Yup, the corner is coming out,along with the return wall,to be replaced with another beam that will tie in with the main one.

Latest view showing strongboy in place, like you say the wall above is still in place, just hope it stays that way ! Acro's still in place in kitchen and with the floor joists above tightly wedged in the rsj I guess that they are doing their bit to support the wall above as well. Note freshly...

Nice one,thanks. A strong boy (just the one !) has now been added outside. All the ground works are complete, all that is missing is the foundation for the pier that should be supporting the end of the beam currently resting on the half-brick. The builder advised that it would be fine to rest...
