Thumbturn should only be around 5-10 degree off vertical not 25. Put pressure on outside cylinder face while turning thumbturn and you should be able to get it lining up.

Had to do the updates on Friday 4 different versions one after the other. Took over 2 hrs. Each download was over 2gb.

Don't think you will get them to fit in the centre. 65-50/2 = 7.5mm. Door checks are normally 12mm therefore the rose is liable to foul the check.
But here you go different backset sizes here. At all cost the door margins will be different because of the doorcheck.

Extend the existing ridge across to the steel, drop in 2 new valley rafters and then infill with jack rafters. No need for extra steel or hangers. One point of note the valley rafters will be deeper than your other rafters if that makes a difference.
