Replacing flat Porch with a Richard Burbidge Apex Porch

How did you finish off the eave edge? Fascia? Eave slate?

Supporting eave tiles on door canopy

I'm not going to use a soffit underneath so I don't want a fascia with a groove at the bottom. What are the composite ones made of? Not sure I've seen those. I only need 1.2m so don't want to buy 5m length, as too expensive, so thought I could make it out of wood.

I haven't found any fascias that will fit as I probably won't use fascias at the front verge. So think making them out of wood will be better and get the exact size right. Should I use Plywood or hardwood?

Brill, thanks! What kind of fascia would you use? uPVC? Or can I use a piece of wood primed/painted? It needs to be quite thick, 9-12mm to support it properly I guess.

Why is the felt not needed for a porch?

So I'd look up and just see the battens slates from underneath? Nothing else ?

Supporting eave tiles on door canopy

I was looking at the porch at the front of our house (which is enclosed/dry, rather than open), but seems like use a batten at the eave edge under the slate... presumably to lift the eave slate, so it meets the first eave slate. But there's a huge gap. So there's the top-eave slate, under-eave...

Just trealised...How do I align the eave slate and first row, if theres no bottom eave batten? Do I need to just raise the fascia up enough, so the slates are all on the same plane?

Does the membrane go over or under the fascia/kicker? Under, or it will pool right?

Something like this? https://www.toolstation.com/eaves-felt-support-tray/p43994 For fascia boards, which is better PVC or the MDF ones?

Supporting eave tiles on door canopy

I'm about to make a small door canopy 60cm x 90cm on each side/slope. There are 3 rafters at 30cm spacings. The eave slate will be attached to a batten, but what will support the bottom of the slate, as there is no bottom batten? I could add an extra batten but it will raise the eave slate...

Width of slate tiles for door canopy/porch

    So if I do tiles of 16.25cm wide (where one-and-half-tile is 25.36cm) I guess that will look slightly better. 1st row => 1 + 1 + 1 + 1 2nd row => 1.5 + 1 + 1.5 and accounting for a 3mm gap between each

Width of slate tiles for door canopy/porch

Ah ok! I've actually got a machete and never used it haha thanks. Smallest tiles I've found are 200mm, but wouldn't I end up cutting a half tile to be less than 150mm if I did that. So if it's 65cm and i want them centered, do you mean cut them down to 65/4 = 16.25cm each? But then I...

Width of slate tiles for door canopy/porch

I bought a small wooden door canopy/porch like this one and I want to put slate tiles on it. https://www.wickes.co.uk/Apex-Pine-Door-Canopy---1190-x-1560mm/p/296073 Its 60cm wide, so guessing 5cm over hang on the front/verge, so total of 65cm wide. What width tiles should I use? 200mm 250mm...
