Scudo triple shower valve - no water on one output

It gets better...... The reason i changed the valve was because the shower went cold after a few minutes and wouldn't run warm again - suspect cartridge. I can't get a replacement so took the option of valve replacement. The new one ran warm last night, albeit it for a few minutes before i...

Scudo triple shower valve - no water on one output

Thanks. I have done stupider things, but not this time. No isolation valves etc, just undid four joints and re-made on new valve after turning off mains. The shower works perfectly on one output but nothing on the other - so water is flowing into and through the valve.

Scudo triple shower valve - no water on one output

Long story short - replaced an existing triple shower valve with a scudo from local merchants as couldn't get a replacement cartridge for old one. What they had in stock rather than any other reason for choosing. Once i had removed tiles etc it was straightforward swap with plumbing in place...

    damp/water ingress under floor

Hi folks, looking for some advice please I'm currently refurbishing a 1970's dormer bungalow and have been working top down - the house is watertight etc. But i do still need to put up guttering at the rear. After clearing out the rubble from underfloor and drying everything out I'm...

    Fixing celotex boards

Be honest hadn't thought of going direct.... main reason I was thinking of battening is because not all of the roof will be plasterboarded. There's a section in the eaves (about 2 m width) and above the room ceiling (flat over the centre and again 2m) that won't be directly plasterboarded but...

    Fixing celotex boards

Hi all A bit of advice if I may, please.... I'm refurbishing a dormer bungalow, the plans (agreed with building control) require celotex between rafters and then under the rafters. Plasterboard will then be fixed over this. The original front half of the roof will have 50mm boards...

New CH & DHW system - advice please

Dan - thanks. I welcome all comments, just more so the useful ones ;) As to 3 showers it's possible in the mornings though 2 is more likely at any point in time. Suspect it'll be a case of they're there so we'll use 'em in the mad morning rush. You seem to suggest a vented system -...

New CH & DHW system - advice please

Hi Looking for some advice on the type of CH system I should have installed - combi, sealed or vented. I'm really dithering between combi and sealed. This will be a fresh install from scratch in a property being renovated - so floors are out, ceilings are out, giving chance to run anything...

    Another what boiler question....

Happy to take the advice, but what's the rationale? My view is based on running through the size of house etc on the vailliant website and they suggested the biggest (probably not surprising). Also my wife wants a combi as she tired of no hot water if one of us has a bath or she's third...

    Another what boiler question....

Hi I'm looking for advice, the background... We have just completed on a repossessed property that needs a lot of work including re-plumbing and central heating. Previously it had a vented system but the exchanger has been ripped from the boiler, the cold & hot water tanks are gone and the...

    Pumped shower running cold...

Hi Looking for some advice with my shower. It is pumped and feed from mains (I think) and hot water tank. It was installed about 5 years and has worked without problem until recently (so assuming plumber did good job and this is parts getting old & tired). Over last couple of weeks it has...

    Spray painting......gloss

Hi First posting so bear with me! I'm decorating a bedroom and we have an ornate (or at least intricate) mdf fireplace with various mouldings. It is already painted but needs to be freshened. Because of the mouldings I'm reluctant to attack it with undercoat & gloss on a brush and was...
