I have heard that using a magnet to slightly extract the key and then removing it with tweezers works.
Can anyone comment on such a method (especially the bit with the magnet)?

I have a problem with a fragment of a key being stuck in the lock of my door. I have explored my options, and one presented to me was the use of a key extractor.
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these, if they are worth the money, and whether i can get them in any hardware...
Thanks for the help mate. As i have posted, im having problems getting the lock out due to a stripped screw, was wondering if you had any tips to remove the screw?
I successfully removed the handles as instructed, however i was unable to remove the screw on the lock, which i think was due to the screw getting worn out, and the screwdriver was unable to get a grip on it.
What can i do to fix this? Will a simple hardware store of some sort have an...
I havent tried getting the lock out yet, so i cannot comment on the bits inbetween, but both ends of it look really similar, so i think it would be safe to assume that it most probably is.
I am a bit of a rookie when it comes to locks. How can i tell if its a euro profile cylinder? And does the above just mean the shape of the lock, or how it actually operates?
