Moved into property ... No fuses?

We don't want any changes made there are plenty of sockets and the lighting positioning is good, it's what we have to have done that's the problem in terms of safety and inconvenience. Will proceed with the PIR and wait for the solicitor to get back to us.

Moved into property ... No fuses?

Ok had one local electrician round this morning he looked at the inlet/fuse board and also undid a couple of pendant lights upstairs and downstairs also looked at the gas and water. He recommends a PIR but can't do it for at least 2-3 weeks Not sure if the lights are earthed but looks as...

We won't have both houses for much longer only until the end of the week. Just waiting until a reasonable hour to start ringing around electricians! Thanks all Andi

Nothing at all was mentioned about the electrics, the boiler was mentioned but we knew that needed replacing with a combi and we factored that in.

Moved into property ... No fuses?

No idea Paul! We will get an electrician out but as its Sunday I wanted to try and understand a bit more about what we have and what may need doing, I have read that in a PME system the earth leakage current is fed back to the electricity boards sub station along a neutral return wire and then...

Moved into property ... No fuses?

Bit more of an update, there are 4 ceramic fuses behind the REVO. The house was built in the 1970s, and doesn't need re-decorating, it has no storage heaters. Really not happy no mention of old electrics was made in the survey and surely that should have been obvious to a valuer/surveyor...

Moved into property ... No fuses?

Hi Thanks, the only place we haven't checked for fuses is the attic if that's a possibility. Will try and get a pic of the kitchen lighting wiring ASAP but OH has gone off to the old house for a few more things so may be tomorrow. Thanks again Andi
