We don't want any changes made there are plenty of sockets and the lighting positioning is good, it's what we have to have done that's the problem in terms of safety and inconvenience. Will proceed with the PIR and wait for the solicitor to get back to us.
Ok had one local electrician round this morning he looked at the inlet/fuse board and also undid a couple of pendant lights upstairs and downstairs also looked at the gas and water.
He recommends a PIR but can't do it for at least 2-3 weeks
Not sure if the lights are earthed but looks as...
We won't have both houses for much longer only until the end of the week. Just waiting until a reasonable hour to start ringing around electricians!
Thanks all

Will just get an electrician out ASAP will hit the phones tomorrow!
Thank you for all your comments so far, I still don't understand electric though   but even I thought something wasn't quite right.

Really not happy no mention of old electrics was made in the survey and surely that should have been obvious to a valuer/surveyor...

Thanks again
Andi

A black box which says eon on it
A PME system 100a series 7
The meter
A small grey box with on/off multi9
A larger white box that says REVO and an on/off switch...
