i just had a good look round it and it must be an old convection unit as there are no pipes leading off and no fans. think your right, i best call out the big dogs to inspect the system! thanks for everyones input, worth a try

this unit must be an antique! no electric anywhere on the thing. all i got is igniter, gas feed and thermostat adjustment nob. make things any clearer? will have a look to see if there is excess lint kicking around thanks for the response by the way everyone

hi there, just moved into new house which has hot air heating. ive never come accross it before so quite oblivious to how it works! the pilot light is on, but when i adjust the thermostat, nothing seems to happen?? am i missing something? or is it up the creek? if anyone knows what...
