Thanks all, I had considered using the connectors and boxes behind blanking plates and extending a small distance upwards but hadn't thought of going below the floorboards to extend the cables from there. Thanks once more.

Hi all, I have 2 lamps which are plugged into 2 different ring final circuits. Both are plugged into timer switches and were switched off. On Sunday, one of the lamps gave a big flash of light and tripped the corresponding mcb. I changed the bulb and switched the mcb back on and all was fine...

I checked both tanks before I put the x800 into the CH expansion tank and both were refilling as would be expected? There were a lot of large creamish scrapings/bits in the CH tank which i cleaned out too though so not sure if that means anything?

I went into the loft and neither the water or CH header tanks are anywhere near the overflow level. But at least one of them is definitely leaking.... Other sitting there waiting, is there any easy way of working out which it is?

That's actually something else that I wanted to ask.... There's literally no space near my boiler to fit a magnaclean, can I fit it near my hot water cylinder instead? If so, what should it be connected to?

Thanks for this, makes a lot more sense now. The pump is at full speed but I can hear it working, hence not too sure why it needs to be changed? I put some Sentinel X800 into the system yesterday, put the heat right up and let it do it's thing. I'll try draining it all out and refilling over...

Thanks for that - the boiler is at heat setting 5. The manual says to leave at this and so it's never been changed. It hasn't been reset or needed to be reset either. Are you asking if hot water is discharging back into the expansion tank in the loft? I'm not too sure to be honest. The pipe is...
