    Vaillant Combi, loss of pressure

Hi We have a Vaillant combi and also a large unvented Ariston cylinder in the loft. I believe that one bathroom and the kitchen run off the combi and the rest of the house off the cylinder. Since Monday, we've had a loss of HW pressure from the showers and taps. I can't see how both...

Sat Cable Connections - certain that this isn't right

Thank you Chris. Having it done properly is not a realistic option as the house is finished and I don't want go go pulling up floors nor rerunning cables along walls so they're visible. I'll go with the option of joining up each connection and see how I get on. It's frustrating as I...

Sat Cable Connections - certain that this isn't right

When we had the house extended a couple of years ago I didn't know where the TV would be placed. I did know that the Sky box would be in the front room and wanted a feed to 3 different points in the extension via an amplifier. I asked the builders to run 3 seperate cables under the floor from...

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Aaargh ! I'll double check these, and take a photo if possible. There is certainly a draincock around postion 4. Thanks for you collective patience all - I think I still need to get to the bottom of the system before trying to change anything.

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Sorry for the delay in coming back to you - time of year and all that ! Plus I work for a certain kitchen supplier which has gone out of business so not great ! Anyway . . . Pipe A in the photo goes to 1. Pipe is hot. A 22mm pipe runs under the floor, can't be seen in the photo, and runs to...

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

To be advised Softus. I'm in the office so will have to go round and check tonight. It's a sealed case Potterton Netaheat 10/16. Will I be able to do as described and see the heat exchanger from the top ? In the matime I'll stop with the guesswork !

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Some more reading came up with this diagram . . which seems to match the pipework except for the cold feed position. On the actual pipework, the direction on the pump is up, therefore it's the wrong way around ? [/img]

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Very appreciative of the time being taken to respond here . . :? HW cylinder was never moved Until I changed the zone valve both hw and ch came on whenever the hw was called for. I'm sure its never been modified but obviously cannot be certain. What are the signs ? Agreed - how can I do...

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Indeed it is. There is only a stat on the top of the cylinder, in the immersion element. Does this mean we can exclude the valve being there to limit the HW temperature and assume its for the CH flow ?

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Thank you Softus. This was installed well over 20 years ago. I believe my father has changed the pump at some point in the past and would think he would have checked the flow direction. However, I can now see what you mean but will try and establish what the system should be doing. Again it...

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Thanks for the response MAtt, especially at 3am ! I meant that I assumed the valve must have been stuck open due to the fact they could not get hw only. Will bleed the coil again today. Thanks for explaining the pipework, on which I have one more q. The flow on the pump is up. Is this correct ?

Zone Valve - fitted correct way ?

Yes, the only one. Not sure which circuit it's on but assumed the system would always feed the hw coil and the ch circuit only when required. ie valve defaults to closed and when opened allows hw to the ch circuit.. I need to check the pictures but pretty sure 5 (inc earth). 22mm, will...
