    Broken waste pipe

There is a u-bend from the plug hole, then a section has been cut out for the waste pipe, so yes once in place a flexi-pipe seems the way to go to connect back to the broken pipe.

    Broken waste pipe

It's free standing, flush all round with no gasket/support strip.

    Broken waste pipe

Free standing, skirts all around but no kind of gasket underneath it either.

That Sir is a very good idea, will see in the morning.

    Broken waste pipe

The pipe snapped where it meets the wall and also on the right-hand bend where it leaves the bath - I will only use flexi-pipe here as there is so little room to work with it would be difficult to all be solid pipe. Most likely use flexi for the bend to 40mm pipe, reduce to 32mm and stick it as...

    Broken waste pipe

The bath was seemingly stuck down with silicone .... it's been loose-ish for years but as long as you didn't sit on the edge of it then all was fine, until an unsuspecting friend of my daughter's came along. Didn't help that the pipework was rigid, will use a flexi-pipe when I repair it.

    Broken waste pipe

The pipe goes straight to the soil stack, the obvious thing to do would be to renew it all but access isn't good on the outside. The 32mm pipe option is probably best even though it should be 40mm - if only a small section is 32mm is that really an issue?

    Broken waste pipe

Hi everyone the 40mm pipe to our free-standing bath has snapped right off where it enters the wall (someone sat on the bath and it tipped forward...). Just wondering the best way to fix this, I guess looking for some kind of reducer or gasket, then hoping the pipe isn't cracked further along...

    Hardcore for new driveway

I tried the above and it didn't really go sticky, so I guess is crushed concrete. Was expecing today another truck load of proper type 1 to add to the rest of the driveway but today's delivery looked like crushed tarmac, roads plannings I think they call it. Hope it does the job but certainly...

Connecting a rain water down pipe into a public surface rain water sewer

Cut a long story short, the existing drainpipe drains water onto our drive and down a slope into the lawn. We're having some work done and I want this drainpipe to connect to a nearby rain water manhole on the driveway which connects into the public surface water sewer. I have been told this is...

    Hardcore for new driveway

OK, spoke with the boss on site today. The hardcore delivered to date is only the initial base, proper type 1 hardcore is coming tomorrow to whack on top - contrary to what one of the workers told me on Tuesday. I am relieved by this, and hope there is sufficient quantity and height availability...

    Hardcore for new driveway

250 sqm ... 27k. To be fair, the paving blocks alone cost 10k if I bought them myself. The boss is here tmrw for the first time. I will update after.

    Hardcore for new driveway

They are using a wacker plate, not a roller. I have contacted Tony and waiting to hear back from him, and also an arborist about an established pine tree that looks like 30% at least of its roots have been ripped out.

    Hardcore for new driveway

OK ... so how exactly do I tell the boss of the company your hardcore is rubbish and I want it replaced with proper type 1. He will tell me they've been using it for years and never had a problem. If I could call on a true expert to come and take a look it would makes things easier, but where do...
