How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

The joists are 7 inches; but its lath and plaster, there isn't really that much drop.

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

Here is the shower outlet; I thought it was a pretty standard design but what would I know? Thanks for any advice, though I think I'll try the independent plumbers merchant - after just double checking if we can achieve the 18mm per m

Yes, cutting it off didn't seem like a great idea really :-). So you're saying it will be ok even if the gradient is very shallow? We can manage to find 5cm I think!

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

I'm sure calling a plumber is not a bad idea, and yes it may even come to that :-). I've not seen such extension pieces; any idea where I might look for one online?

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

The waste drains into a soil stack, but the run is long – over 3m. Hence I need a reasonable drop over that length. I’m at the limit of how low I can go in terms of the exit of the pipe into the soil stack, so no unfortunately I don't think I can just lower the waste pipe down a bit.

Yes, it's a challenge. Photos here - do they make it any clearer? Thanks a lot for any suggestions.

How can we avoid raising wet room base when there is limited space for the fall on the waste pipe?

We have a shower base for a new wet room which has a lip around the hole for the waste. The lip lies about 1&1/2 inch below the level of the base. But this is a problem as we are already at the minimum cross fall on the waste pipe, which means raising the base up by an inch to maintain the cross...

Solid Wall insulation internal - without buildings regs

Thanks for all the comments also. Seems like I am just worrying too much, helps get it in perspective - it is nothing safety related after all

Solid Wall insulation internal - without buildings regs

Do lenders really care about insulation anyway? [I guess not that much]. I am also too honest. I wouldn't be able to not mention the insulation work when I come to sell, now I realise that regs are needed. Perhaps I can for the remortgage and deal with it later. So, if I put in buildings regs...

Solid Wall insulation internal - without buildings regs

The situation is just that it has been done without informing buildings regulations, so I guess it is not legal and this might be an issue when I come to sell (and I want to remortgage soon). I read the part L buildings regs last night and as far as I can see you are supposed to apply whether...

Solid Wall insulation internal - without buildings regs

Thanks for the replies. Won't it be a problem when I come to sell or remortgage? I won't be pursuing the installer - he is closely related to me! I think the work is very likely to be ok but I am not sure how hard it is to prove that retrospectively. It really makes a big difference to the...

Solid Wall insulation internal - without buildings regs

I know how stupid this is, but naively we installed internal wall insulation in several rooms (external walls). Solid wall house. Had no idea there were regs for this, just thought that adding insulation was a "good thing to do" (yes, ... I know better now). We used Kingspan materials and it...
