yeah it appears that the hot water part is still working - I tried a few more times to fire up the heating and now for some reason the noises have disappeared but the same thing happens - boiler comes on with pilot then it just stops after about 1 minute.

Hi, This system is about 5 years old. Just today of all days (Hogmany) the system appears to have stopped working. I click the heating on, the boiler fires up (green light stays on) then their is a loud banging, scratching type noise - (like its feeding back into the boiler) then the boiler...
