What's the best method of checking the battery, I presume you mean the large square/rectangular battery in the PCB box?

I installed a wired home alarm 5 yrs ago. All worked well for the first 4 yrs. But I have started to get alarms at all times of the day, which indicate gross alarm? Those this indicate there's something wrong with the vibration or contact sensors?
