Probably did use the wrong stuff, should have asked on here first, but you live and learn as they say :D
Took about 4 hrs to do. Wasn't in too much of a hurry, more concerned with not spilling black gunge on the new carpets
After weeks of waiting on the chemical flush doing its stuff and
failing miserably, I drained the central heating and took all the radiators
off. Didn't make a mess for once  .
Flushed them out in the back garden, turning it to a mud bath in the
process :? . The colour of the stuff...
Cheers guys. That seems to have helped a bit.
Still think I've got a sludge problem. Will give it another day
for the chemicals to do their stuff.
If not I might take the radiators off and
flush them out with a hose
Whats wrong with calling myself Wee Man? Your named after a brand of adjustable spanner! My real name is Gregg.
And yes I am genuine, don't know if there had been a problem with another member calling themself Little Old Man/Lady etc etc
Over the last week or so 4 or my downstairs radiators have gone luke warm. The radiators up stairs are fine.
Today I drained the system and put a flusher chemical through it. I know this might take a while to work.
I then went to bleed the radiators. The top ones bled fine, lots of air...
