Worcester Greenstar 42CDI - no pressure! (overflow pipe leaking)

So the engineers came out. Nice chap. Though hated having someone in the home at this time. Replaced two valves, some gaskets, and pumped up the pressure in the err...big metal pressure thingy. He said the pressure was only a little bit low but lower than it should be. Anyway, back in warranty...

£240 with the warranty reinstated it was. It's actually been working fine all day though to be honest.

Worcester Greenstar 42CDI - no pressure! (overflow pipe leaking)

Thank you guys. Refilled this morning and no drip, pressure going up as normal when on. Seems to be working as normal. Maybe the pressure relief valve has corrected itself. But I think maybe get Bosch out to service and look at, take no chances. Unfortunately missed the service last year due to...

Thanks Terry. Is that something I can shut myself?

Worcester Greenstar 42CDI - no pressure! (overflow pipe leaking)

Hi, My parents boiler has a problem. It is a Worcester Greenstar 42CDI. Around 1 week ago we noticed the boiler had low pressure when in use (central heating). The pressure gauge was in the red, below 1. We filled when off (cold) so pressure was between 1 and 1.5 as per manual. Last night...

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

I have not tried this yet, will do ASAP.

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

That is correct. (unless of course, moving the wire causes the secondary motion of moving the connector) But when the connector is tight in the socket and screwed, moving the wire definitely does nothing.

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

3 of the LED channels work, 1 doesn't. Nothing different happens when you waggle the cable. The only way to get the channel that isn't working to work, is to connect the connector in such a way that one side is plugged in and one side is effectively plugged out (meaning the other 3 channels...

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

Yes, when the connector is firmly attached using the pins, I do not get full functionality. One channel simply does not work. It only works when pivoted. I don't know why this became faulty as it was working and hadn't been moved in any way.

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

Could this be solved by cutting back the cable and rewiring from there?? Perhaps best thing is to try the new connector first and see if it does fix? Thanks for all the help.

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

I did open it up. I could not see anything overly wrong, but that is with an untrained eye of course. I'm assuming it is the connector for a couple of reasons. 1. I have the another identical light fixture, and this works fine in the same same controller. 2. If I pivot the 9 pin connector...

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

Thank you for the advice. Can you recommend a connector with solid metal pins? I've just had a search, but nothing coming up on eBay. Thanks.

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

Whoops! Yes of course. When rewiring, are all 9 pin connectors the same in terms of pin layout? ie, just do like for like?

Advice on changing 9 pin connector on lighting fixure...

Hi, I have an aquarium light. It is unfortunately out of warranty, and needs repair (it cost £699 new). It has 4 sets of lights (blue, white, 2x coloured) that operate independently...the light then plugs into an electronic controller using a 9 pin connector. This operates the lights to a set...

Kingspan type insulation on existing plastered wall...

Thanks. Is there any downside to doing that other than losing a bit of space? Is it likely to cause anything at all (don't really know what, just asking to make sure)? What size Kingspan would you suggest for this? 50mm, or would that be overkill considering? Cheers.
