Thanks, I refurbished the old syphon with £0.20 worth of plastic diaphram and the flush is now perfect. Throwing the fancy TURBO 88 in the bin. I now have the only cistern in the UK which will disconnect itself when I whistle! Thanks again fro the info. wgd
