    Damp bricks above DPC

There was a loose fibreglass type insulation blown in 2008. Builder removed thermalite blocks to check for pipes and the existing CWI came out, hence rockwool inserted in it's replacement before blocking back up. I understand the external patch was after severe heavy rain we had in December...

    Damp bricks above DPC

Can anyone suggest what's going on here. I've got some damp bricks above the DPC. This far, the DPC has been checked. Cavity (cavity filled) checked for pipes, bridging etc. Cavity insulation was damp, but interior bricks felt dry. Cavity was then reinsulated with rock wool week ago for the...

    Asbestos (AIB)?

That's the plan - called a few places today (licenced samplers) albeit no answer to know if they would serve the area I live as none under 1hours drive. I'm a little less stressed now, knowing it was not a boiler flue and two the kite mark dated in a safer time zone closer the the outright ban...

    Asbestos (AIB)?

I'm hopeful I have a little glimmer of hope. I removed the kitchen panel to have a look from the bottom up towards the first floor. I don't think there ever was a air heater system, rather the flue seemed to serve an old gas fire only. This also makes sense as I cannot locate any old vents or...

The company I contacted, send the samples to a UKAS accredited laboratory. I just need to wait until the new year to arrange an onsite visit.

My other concern is I recently had the door open drying out the carpet Infront of the door and wood including airing cupboard due to a dehumidifier leaking for a period of time went unnoticed. I had used...

    Asbestos (AIB)?

The third photo looks like plasterboard was cut away and the aib is on top. The other two sheets bottom there is no paper on the boards / have fibres. As it's a flue it needs to be heat resistant so has to be some type of heat resistant material

    Asbestos (AIB)?

Hi all, I have sent off an enquiry to a local firm. In the meantime has anyone come across material like this and if I'm looking at Asbestos (AIB)? The house (ex council) was built late 1970's and had a metal b vent flue pipe running from the ground (assumption legacy back boiler) up through...
