Cold water inlet. Valiant 824 turbo max.

So, engineer arrived and I mentioned the problem. He muttered something about their being two valves and said he would have a look. He left after finishing the service but didn't mention the problem. However when I checked, I saw the pressure had increased but I tried opening the tap and still...

Can you isolate the cold feed to the bathroom then see if hot water comes through the mixer tap?

    Honeywell evohome with Worcester 4000

I have a Honeywell evohome system controlling a Vaillant 824 turbo max. After 25 years it's time to say goodbye to the Vaillant and my heating engineer recommended a Worcester 4000 as a replacement. Just wondering if evohome will be compatible with the Worcester. My engineer is not very familiar...

Cold water inlet. Valiant 824 turbo max.

I can't seem to pressurise my Valiant 824 turbo max. It doesn't normally lose pressure, so I rarely need to pressurise but when I do, I just open the valve and water gushes in. However I tried to add a little pressure the other day and no sound of rushing water and pressure did not rise. If I...

    Another evohome question.

All sorted now. I created a custom schedule which included all zones except the bathroom. All other zones set to 5 Deg. The bathroom continues to follow the main schedule. Now we have nice warm dry towels!

    Another evohome question.

I have tried all the preset quick actions, but none of then achieve the required result. Is there a way to setup a custom quick actions? I can't see any way of doing this.

    Another evohome question.

I've had a Honeywell Evohome system running quite satisfactorily for a number of years. The system has 7 zones all of which are controlled by a HR92 valve. However the bathroom has just a basic thermostatic valve, so is not controlled by the Evohome. My problem is, that as we get the warmer...

    Expansion vessel ???

Yes, I thought there may be a dead leg there. However, the pipes are going to be reused as he's having a new bathroom installed after he completes the house purchase.

    Expansion vessel ???

My grandson is in the process of buying a house and has come across this. I'm assuming it's an expansion vessel, but what's it for? He says there used to be a water tank there.

    Old stopcock

The original stopcock in my house, built 1971 is buried away behind some bathroom fittings. To make a more accessible stopcock, I fitted a new one further along the pipe. This is easily accessible when I need to turn of the water supply. However this has now started to leak around the gland...

    Cisternless toilets.

I have a "bidet toilet" which I had installed for medical reason although it seems the trendy name for them now is " Smart toilet". It's seen better days and looking at replacing with a newer model. I've looked at quite a few which don't have a water cistern and flush directly from the mains...

    VitrA Vcare wash toilet.

I have a VitrA Vcare wash toilet which after a few years has developed a leak at the water inlet connector. The connector is plàstic/nylon and the thread has stripped so I guess I need a replacement connector. The retailer where I purchased has closed down and I'm struggling to find anywhere...

New boiler with hot water storage?

Current boiler is a vaillant combi. It's 20 years old now so thinking of having it replaced this summer. The boiler is located quite a way from the kitchen and bathroom, about 15 metres I would guess, so it takes a while for hot water to reach the taps, therefore wasting water and gas. Bit of a...

    Cool domestic hot water

Boiler is vaillant 824 turbo max. Since the very cold spell of last few days, DHW has been intermittently warm, but not hot the diagnostic codes are all as they should be, indicating diverter valve is operating ok. Could this just be due to the very cold incoming water supply, or diverter...
