I am not too sure about everybody having gas pipes on their land??? Most mains are placed along the highways for ease of access unless an agreement has been drawn up between the landowner and the utility provider. There has been no such agreement or I have no evidence of this on my deeds...
We have just stared building an extension unaware that the gas mains pipes run the entire length of the garden (not outside my boundaries as shown in the gas utility plans). For work to continue these need to be diverted - who is responsible for footing the bill? I am unaware of any wayleave...
