New plaster. I have been told a thicker roller will help. What’s the pros/cons of a thicker/thinner roller?

It doesn’t look great to be honest, I don’t need it to be perfect but it can be better. I’m going to get a thicker roller at the weekend and some Dulux and give it another coat. Trying not to be too anal about it, it’s really not the best though!
