Is there a knack to skimming obtuse angles between two adjoining walls? Im thinking to roll em with bnding first and just have curves.... but I think her indoors will want straight corners. One option is a stop bead on one of the walls, but they can be just as awkward to get straight. Just...
Thats a ridiculous comparison to draw. Why would a building inspector conduct independent flammability tests on cladding..... they dont, instead they accept the reports that they are furnished with and advise accordingly.... as they must with most of the other materials that are used within the...
Ill take some at the weekend and post em. Lived with it for over 2 years and its absolutely fine. Its not really any different than walking off the landing on the other side.
As the title suggests, is there such a thing as a bath that has the vertical bit at the opposite end to the waste? Or is there a bath that is vertical at both ends (ie no slope) and has the waste hole at one end, ie not in the middle.
Why not do a suspended timber floor and insulate between the joist? Wall plates on 2 opposing walls, then joist hangers and joists. Leave a space under the joists for air to circulate and fit a cple air bricks.
It's not exposed.... the wall is the central wall in the house.... its not (and never has been) an external wall.... so I don't think they'll be any trays above it anywhere.
It's a fully internal wall.

Typical 1970s brick built house - no...
Managed it.
First off - I had to remove the bullnose step. It wasn't possible to do it with the step in place. It was fairly easy to remove. The tread was nailed on and came off pretty easy - although I had to be pretty careful.
Once I'd done that... I measured up from the floor to the...
Thanks for the replies. I decided to remove the bottom bullnose step and I'll dry fit the newel to the stringer and second step first so that I can fit the post from the front. Once it's chopped out for the 2nd step and stringer - I'll temporarily replace the bullnose step, mark the post for...
The base of the post had been damaged for many years. The floor has been replaced and boarded over a while ago. It's a suspended timber floor and there isn't any damage elsewhere.
Either way..... I'm still trying to work out the best way to fit a new newel post. It's not a task I've taken...
I'm renovating an old stair case. I have had to remove the old Newel post in its entirety as it was rotten at the base due to old water damage. The attached pics show what I'm left with - the post straddles two steps and the first step is a bullnose step.
My question is, if I were to keep the...
